I started using Shopback around 6 months ago and I wish I had of started using it when I was shopping online constantly. I haven’t shopped as much this year but I have still racked up a fair bit of cash back!
Where does the cash back go?
After the returns period has ended for your order, say 30 days for some stores, the cash back is available to withdraw to your bank account. There’s nothing fancy about earning points or having to spend it through your account, the balance can literally just can be withdrawn.
I think I’ll be using this as my Christmas saver during the year in 2021 so I can save up without realising.
Tips for using Shopback
Here’s my tips for making the most of Shopback and how to be as smart as possible with it.
Shopback lets you know when there’s sales on - I always keep tabs on my favourite stores. I have the Google Chrome extension installed because there’s been so many times where I’ve just purchased something and forgot to click through Shopback! So devastating to know that I missed out on savings.
The amount of cash back always changes - Shopback updates you when a store increases it’s cashback amount. If you’ve been eyeing off something in particular and the cashback amount goes from 3% to 10%, it can mean you get %10 back on a $100 purchase! So technically you only spent $90, right?
Wait for the big sales - I always wait before making a big purchase if I know that Black Friday, End of Financial Year and Boxing Day Sales are coming up. They are a great time to get the things you want at a discounted price, plus the cash back!
Know what you already need - Keep a wish list on Pinterest or in your phone notes of the items you really want. When you see a sale or the cashback amount increase on that store, it’s time to treat yourself.
Play to win - There’s games in the app to participate in and win prizes! I haven’t won anything yet but I’ve seen people in the Facebook group post about their winnings.
